Hannah was born and raised in Southern California. They went to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and got their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry. They did their undergraduate research with Dr. Michael Page synthesizing diisocyanate free polyurethanes in efforts to produce nontoxic polymers. After graduating, they became a research technician at City of Hope National Medical Center and worked on therapeutics and imaging agents for cancer. Hannah moved to Salt Lake City to pursue their PhD through the Molecular Biology Program at the University of Utah in 2020. They joined the Elde Lab to study the evolution of dsRNA sensing in zebrafish. In their free time, they enjoy advocating for a more just and accessible science, hiking, camping, and drinking coffee.
